Norms Sweep, go to 4-4 on Season

5/31 - The Norms rode some hot hitting in the first game and blended in some stellar defense in both games to earn a doubleheader sweep at Northview Park on a beautiful late spring night. The victories were the 3rd and 4th wins in a row and pushed the Norms record to 4-4, one game out of the win column in the Eagan Tuesday D League.
The Norms were never challenged in the first game as they had their way with the Strokes while cruising to a convincing 16-3 victory. Newly signed Derek Willis led the charge with 3 hits and a career high 6 RBI. Eric Harre had 3 hits and 3 RBI after a brief one week holdout and missed a homerun by the narrowest of margins. Craig Parrucci had 3 hits and 2 RBI. Grisled vet Todd Schneiderhan pitched out of a couple of jams to earn the victory.
In the second game, the Norms avenged one of their 4 losses on the season by easily handling Perrier Liquors, 12-5. Perrier jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the top of the 1st, but would score only once the rest of the way as the Norms D took over, turning in 2 double plays and nearly a triple play to end the game. As it stood, 1B Jeff Johnson made a tumbling over the shoulder catch in foul territory as he rolled into the chain linked fence to end game and send the Norms to their 4th straight victory. On offense, Johnson snapped out of a season long funk as he smacked 2 singles and rumbled to a triple while collecting 4 RBI and the game ball. "my wrist finally feels healthy and Im gonna hit like that every game, but I dont like running bases" said an exhausted but very satisfied Johnson after game two. Brian Marx finally got hot, smoking two doubles off the fence and scoring 3 runs. The Norms also got inside the park solo home runs from speedsters Craig Parrucci and Derek Willis. "I think Craig could take Derek in a foot race" said coach Mike Wright "but it would be awfully close". TSnide smoked a long solo home run ove the leftcenter field fence. The Norms are back in action next week as they look for their 5th consecutive victory. It wont come easy as they take on the Valley Lounge Orioles. The Orioles schooled the Norms 21-7 in week 1.
